284. House hunting was a difficult thing for Toph, Sokka, and Lin. Each house they saw just didn’t fit them, they all had different things that they wanted for a home and they just couldn’t seem to find them all in one place. Finally Toph had enough, she found a large spacious vacant lot towards the center of Republic City. She asked Sokka and Lin what were the things they wanted most in a house. Sokka asked for a balcony in their bedroom, Lin for a room with a large window that she could see the city from. With a smirk Toph nodded and the earth began to shake as she performed a great feat of earthbending, raising their new home from the ground in the lot. It was magnificent, and everything they could have ever wanted.

283. The day Toph and Sokka were finally married was a great celebration in Republic City. However the after party was a bit of an issue as the entire police academy attended and they couldn’t really arrest themselves, or their chief.

282. Sokka hated himself for his flaw. No wonder Suki had been unsatisfied with their relationship. That’s why he kept putting off that part of his relationship with Toph, he didn’t want to lose her because of something like that, how could he have been cursed like this? When Toph finally confronted him about their lack of a physical relationship, he had no choice but to confess to her. Toph just smiled at him and said “So what?”. She told him he could have been a girl and she still wouldn’t have let him go.

281. Sokka didn’t want to leave his bed. Not when he could feel his heart crumbling into a thousand tiny pieces. Suki was gone, she had left him. Almost without a word, she just left. He had come home and there she was with a bag in hand, all she could say was that she was done, and to take care of himself and just like that she walked out the door. As he lay there trying hard not scream, his door burst open. He looked up thinking maybe Suki came back, but it wasn’t her, the figure standing his his doorway was shorter than her. Instead he saw Toph, she didn’t say anything, instead she just walked straight over to him, sat on his bed and threw her arms around him. Now he knew he was safe and he let it all go, and lay there crying on her shoulder until he couldn’t breathe.

280. “Just come with me, there’s someone i want you to meet.” Toph just let Sokka take her hand and  pull her along out of her earth tent without a fight. “Toph, do you know about moonlight?” “Of course i do Meathead, i know when there’s a moon, and when there’s sun, and when its just dark” “Okay well what do you think tonight is like?” Toph just stood a moment letting the night wash over her trying to judge the light intensity with her sightless eyes. “Umm i think the moon’s full” “Toph i would like you to meet Yue, The Moon Spirit, and the only girl besides you that knows me better than anything.”

279. Sokka liked to tell the story of his space sword. How he found Piandao, learned the way of the sword, and forged one of his own from earth that fell from the stars. When it came to the day of Sozin’s Comet he would always get nostalgic remembering the day he lost his magnificent sword. Sometimes people would ask him why he didn’t try to grab it as it was falling. He would get very serious and tell them that he was too busy holding on to something worth more than 10 thousand of the world’s finest swords, and her name was Toph.

278. Sokka didn’t consider himself to be the jealous type. But when he saw Toph with her new boyfriend, he had to stop himself from screaming with frustration. He wanted to pull them apart and just hold her to himself, keep her for his own. No matter what he told himself, he knew that it was jealousy that was eating away at him.

277. In the bedroom Toph had a habit of calling Sokka “Captain Boomerang”.

276. Once Toph and Sokka were walking through Republic City park and as they sat on a bench Toph noticed a tiny form hiding in the bushes. They decided to investigate and what they found was a little boy with bright green eyes clutching his rumbling stomach. Without another thought Sokka went to get him something to eat while Toph sat with the small boy. They sat and talked; the boy was astounded by her ways of earthbending and her stories. He confessed to her that he was too scared to go out and help his brother get money, and asked her how she got her confidence when she was younger. Toph took a real moment to think about it, just as Sokka came back with an armful of food. As the boy started to dig into his food Toph told him that she got her confidence from two things; competing and winning in earth bending tournaments and having someone who loved her for all that she was. Just as she said that she gave Sokka a quick kiss on the cheek, making the little boy giggle. He then stood up and told them that he would train and he would be one of the best probenders in the world. This made Toph smile, but Sokka noticed that the boy hadn’t eaten all of his food and asked him why. The boy only smiled and told him that he was saving it for his brother. He then waved at Toph and Sokka before he ran away shouting back “I’ve got to tell Mako about my plan!”

275. Toph wanted to forget her feelings for Sokka, after all he wasn’t hers to have. But it never worked, there was always something. Something inside of her couldn’t let him go, wanted him for herself. Whenever she thought she had crushed her feeling, he did something and they all came rushing back. It was almost enough to make her cry with frustration. She just wanted them to go away, but when he first kissed her and told her he loved her more than anything, she was glad those feelings never went away.

274. Toph’s tears were a rare occurence. Many people didnt believe that she could cry. But Sokka knew the truth, he was the only one who had seen her cry more than once, the only one who know about how vulnerable she could be.
